On 21 March 2016, the first edition of the World Coalition on Adult Vaccination Newsletter was released demonstrating that vaccines are not just for kids and the importance of championing for life-course approaches to immunizations, ensuring not only the individual is protected but the community as a whole.
The IFA along with collaborators, the Confederation of Meningitis Organizations (CoMO) and Hacettepe University, realized the lack of work on adult vaccinations and the need for champions in the field. With this realization, the organizations brought together a variety of experts together from academics, health providers, civil society and media personnel for two meetings in Brussels Belgium in November 2015 where the World Coalition on Adult Vaccination was created: The European Adult Immunization Advocacy NGO Summit and the Adult Immunization Advocacy Champion Summit.
It is extremely important to have champions all over the world advocating for increased awareness, education and the establishment of programs and initiatives focusing on the importance and need for improved adult vaccination uptake rates.
Learn what brings such a diverse group of members of the World Coalition on Adult Vaccination together and their current work in ensuring adult vaccination uptake rates are improved in the first edition of the World Coalition on Adult Vaccination Newsletter.
