Welcome to the IFA Policy Portal
At an international level, there is a lack of easily accessible resources that bring together information on government legislation and associated policy material that relate to older people. The IFA has a mission to contribute to knowledge on policy and understand its impact on older people.
For this reason, the IFA has developed a much-needed resource and data bank on ageing policy - the IFA Policy Portal will be your central resource to help you navigate information on government policy from around the world. Through this portal you will have access to policy reports and articles, as well as a library of the highest level of national policy documents on ageing. It is our intention that this Policy Portal will serve as a resource to inspire further understanding and research, and to draw greater international attention to important policy issues.
This site is centered around three substantive policy areas that have relevance in both the developed and developing world - age discrimination, engaging older people, and financial protection. Each policy area was selected in recognition of the impact that it has on the lives of older people from all backgrounds and in all parts of the world. By visiting each of the policy areas on the left hand menu, you will find policy reports and available legislation that relate to each subject:
The IFA would like to acknowledge the generous support and contributions made by Age Concern England, an organization deeply committed to advancing knowledge on ageing policy around the world.
The IFA Policy Portal is a work-in-progress, and we invite you to check back regularly for updates and more information.
